Coming into the series both teams struggled a bit. Both goalies are doubtful today and that is not good for either of them. Wow! What a game last night between the AVS and STARS last night! That is what playoff hockey is all about! Tonight, we head down to Florida for the game between the LIGHTNING and the PANTHERS. Yes folks, we have the Tampa Bay LIGHTNING hosting the Florida Panthers in game 1 of their playoff series. Even though the LIGHTNING came out hot in the final game of the regular season and destroyed the PANTHERS, I expect the PANTHERS to start the 2nd season right tonight at Amalie Arena. Wasn’t that not a game yesterday in Dallas? There is nothing better than PLAYOFF hockey and the Stanley Cup Championship Playoffs are the best tournament is the best in the world. Today we open the 2025 Stanley Cup. In the NHL the 2nd season is probably the most exciting aspect of the NHL season. There are 2 games to start the playoffs - the St. Louis BLUES heading up to Winnipeg to take on the JETS and the Colorado AVALANCHES heading to Dallas to faceoff with the STARS. Today is truly pick your poison day as both series appear to be locked in. As we all know, what you expect rarely happens the way you expect it. Our game today takes us to the BIG “D” home of the Dallas STARS. Dallas has dominated for most of the season in Dallas. The STARS ended the season losing 7 straight games. Top scorer Jason Robertson is out with a knee, but the STARS now have Mikko Rantanen, the former AVS forward. Colorado is healthier and should win and topple the STARS on home ice.
