After scoring 6 goals in game 1 of the season vs Boston, Florida has dropped their next 2 roadies to weaker teams. The BRUINS have won 2 straight after that loss to Florida (both home games). Good morning… I am very sorry for yesterday’s poor performance by the Pick. Early in the season surprise happen and we were all victims of that. Today we will try to find out road back to redemption. Our game takes us north of the border to Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Winnipeg JETS are hosting the Minnesota WILD at Canada Life Centre. Minnesota opened their season on home ice splitting their first 2 games. Winnipeg has won their 1st 2 games. Over the last couple of years, the Jets have had their way with the WILD. St. Louis is playing their 3rd game in 4 nights and are coming off of 2 come-from-behind wins. Tonight, their game gets real as fatigue slaps them collectively in the face. The Toronto MAPLE LEAFS are in town to take on the undefeated New Jersey DEVILS. The LEAFS got blanked last night in Montreal 1-0. That is hard to imagine with all of their firepower. The DEVILS won their 1st 2 games in Sweden but face a Toronto team that usually wins at the "Rock" in Jersey. The LEAFS get back on the winning track this evening.

The PENS will be welcoming in the New York RANGERS in what should be a spirited tilt. Last year these 2 teams both won in each other’s barn. The RANGERS won both of their contests in Pittsburgh last season. New York has to be one of the favorites in the east. Youth, scoring and goaltending all point to a successful season.

With the exception of the games we had in Sweden last weekend, the 2024 / 2025 season kicks off this afternoon in Seattle. Our game tonight takes us to Miami, Florida. The World Champion PANTHERS are welcoming in the dreaded, and often feared, Boston BRUINS. With goalie Jeremy Swayman happily back in the fold for the BRUINS, Florida will have their hands full. The PANTHERS start the season on top of the heap after winning the CUP last year. Their ceremony will delay the start of the game. The BRUINS will probably not enjoy the delay as they raise their banner to the rafters.
